Install new wireless router

Hey guys,

I need to replace my Belkin N1 router with a Trendnet TEW-633GR wireless router.

I tried the auto install several times but the new router isn't detected. I noticed that the IP address for the Belkin router is different from the default 192.168.2.1. It is now set to 10.1.1.1.

It appears that 192.168.2.1 is now a portal to TrangoBroadband. I tried attaching the new router and accessing it manually through its default IP, but I can't get a connection.

Help!!

Thanks, Rod Pfiefle

Re: Install new wireless router

I've figured out that I can access the Trendnet with my laptop but not my old desktop with XP. I wonder why.

So, from here, do I just need to copy all of the settings from the original Belkin router and apply them to the new Trendnet?

Re: Install new wireless router
for the most part, i'd say yes. just use the same settings from the old router to the new one. I'm letting Dennis know of this post so he can say for certain since routers are not my specialty.
